A good artist knows when to stop, so do poor people…

My first album, GROUNDWORK is coming to an end. I wanted my first album to be 14 songs, but it got cut to 12… Now it’s 10. But 10 very solid songs. I had a technical error on one of the 12 and another I wasn’t 100% about.

So with that, it will be 10 solid songs that I am proud of and hope you’ll like them.

I have 4 songs that need Electric Guitar and 2-3 that need keyboards, after that it’s just a general clean-up and mastering. Then I’ll release and finally start playing a few live shows. I’m already practicing my set.

For now I’m just hanging out downtown and writing up the final mixing notes for it… I can’t wait to finish it.

“Ok, Sarah” Was played on the Radio!

It was almost supernatural to finally hear “Ok, Sarah” on the radio yesterday. One major dream fulfilled on the road to realizing the full and final dream. I havent had much in the way of time recently, so my posts have been brief, but I wanted to give some props to the people that are helping me along my road.  So thank you to all the amazing people I’ve met that helped me get a song made of acoustic guitar and samples in garageband… into a full-fledged real song, and then played on the radio!

“The Sound” – Where I recorded Ok, Sarah… a high-class studio that is extremely professional and really brought my music to a place I would of never possible. You can call them at 434-293-5948 if you’re ready to do some recording yourself. This whole experience was the best money I ever spent…

James McLaughlin [The Sound] – Drums, Arragements & Mixing – Insane drummer, with a distinct ear for detail. He hears things I dont even hear myself, its like a super-power. Not only that, he’is a human metronome. I’ve learned so much from him, in the past 6 months… and I’m still learning stuff everytime I walk in the door. I cant wait to push forward with the rest of the songs.

Mark Graham [The Sound] – Bass – Fantastic bassist and awesome engineer. He was the first one I spoke with on my road to a high class production CD. Glad you invited me to The Sound’s open house, buddy.

Brian Chenault – Guitars – Honestly, the best guitarist I’ve ever met, professional and solid.

Grove Miller – Keyboards – His ability to bring the songs to the next level, is amazing and crazy creative.

Emily Thomas – My girl who gave me so much support and time to help me do this, as well as helping me with inital arrangements and Midi work.

My friends – You know who you are, and if I didnt annoy you every 5 seconds with another rendition of the songs… I would of never finished them. I’ve got 6 more to go to finish this CD, please keep showing the patience you have already. A special thanks to Richard Fain and Abe Nelson!

Koli Cutler [WTJU 91.1] – for playing my song on the radio, it was such a surreal experience and I thank you for that.
